MCCHS Registration 2025

New

WELCOME TO THE MCC HOCKEY SECTION REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR 2025

We've been counting down to the start of a new hockey season and are pleased to open registrations for the 2025 winter hockey season at the MCC Hockey Section.

Although the Committee was able to maintain fee levels at 2022 levels for the last two years, increasing costs across several operational areas have meant that fees have had to be increased this year. We have also adjusted the fees between different playing categories for a fairer allocation of operating costs.

We are also introducing a volunteer levy in 2025. A community sporting club relies on its volunteers to operate, and the levy provides a financial incentive to members and parents to participate in some of the multiple activities it takes to run the club, and seeks to ensure that all club members are contributing to the club in a small capacity, spreading the volunteer load. We hope you will take the opportunity to meet other members and families and contribute to the success of the club. The levy will be added to your registration fees, where applicable, and more details on this levy are outlined below.

We're pleased to maintain a number of discounts related to age (both U21 and over 60), students U25, players playing multiple competitions, and junior sibling discounts.

We've been able to keep fee increases to a minimum despite increased costs across the board. This has been in part due to the generosity of the MCC Foundation which continues to provide grant funding. We are grateful for the generous support that the MCC Foundation provides the hockey section.

While the MCC Foundation support is welcomed, we continue to look for alternative ways to help fund costs and keep member fees down and also contribute to capital works projects such as the new Elwood Pavilion. Please keep a look out for and support our social events throughout the upcoming season. We would love to hear from anyone who would like to become an MCC Hockey Section sponsor. Please contact your Section Head for further information.

PAYMENT
MCC hockey fees must be paid in full, or you must have signed up to a payment plan, by the Wednesday before the first round.

If you are not financial you will not be selected. Late fees may also apply. If you are involved in any training before Round 1 you are also required to be registered with Hockey Victoria to ensure you have insurance coverage.

PAYMENT PLANS
Payment plans are an effective way to spread the cost of registration over a 4 month period. A payment plan requires a 20% deposit by the due dates listed above, with the balance to be paid by direct debit in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments, and to be paid in full by 30 June. The payment plan is most effective when you sign up early.

FAMILY REGISTRATIONS
If you are registering a family, we ask that each playing adult register separately. Junior players under the age of 18 should be registered as part of an adult's registration.

If you have a child who has turned 18 before registering, we ask that they register separately, even if a parent is paying their fees.

SUPPORTER MEMBERSHIP
We are pleased to offer supporter memberships for non-players. In 2025 this will be $100 and entitles the supporter to a $50 kiosk voucher, as well as a choice of either a cap or a beanie. This membership will also be available to purchase directly from the kiosk during the winter season.

VOUNTEER LEVY
For details on the Volunteer Levy please see the policy:
https://www.mcchockey.org.au/wp-content/uploads/Volunteer-Levy-Policy-2025.pdf

HOW TO REDUCE YOUR FEES
There are many ways to reduce your fees. We have several operational support roles as well as the coaching of Junior and Senior teams where you can have your MCC Hockey Section fees waived or reduced.

You can take up an exempt role to remove your volunteer levy.

Umpires are also paid per game, which is a great way for Junior and Senior players to earn some additional income. The Club also has some paid roles. Please contact your Section Head if you are interested in any roles at the club.

CHILD SAFE REQUIREMENTS
For parents registering their child, every child (under 18 years of age at the date of registration) must have an adult primary contact and corresponding email address included as part of the registration process. This will assist the Club in delivering communications to each child's responsible adult.
